Covers
In K3.veranda we not only support glass or polycarbonate roofing.
There is also **solar (=photovoltaic), trapezoidal sheet metal and corrugated sheet metal roofing as well as the
Louvred roof **
In addition, the system offers a function for supporting the roof bays in depth by means of an
additional cross beam.
For sales reasons, the slatted roof is a separate model selection for most of our suppliers. Technically, it is a single covering, as we can produce both classic mono-pitch roofs and cubic systems with Lamella. You can achieve this representation by offering "louvred roof" as a value in the Model selection and using a rule to ensure that when this model is selected, the covering selection is restricted to is described as "slat". We have already seen this process under Weitere Dachtypen we got to know it.
Feature of the covering
The various coverings can always be set using the <Liste> "Eindeckung" [glassDensity]
feature.
In the standard template, this feature is located in the Color & Covering tab.
To add new coverings, we need to edit this feature and add new values to it.
These values require special keys and sometimes other attribute settings.
Available keys

"Polycarbonat 16mm klar" [poly]

Attributes
If not already present, add the following attributes to the values of the "Coverage" feature, so that you can control the following things:
- New attribute
<Zahl> "Opacity" [opacity]
- This attribute can be between 0 and 1. In the case of glass or polycarbonate coverings, it controls the opacity of the material: 0 is completely transparent, 1 is frosted glass
- New attribute
<Zahl> "Dicke" [depth]
- This attribute is interpreted as a number in dm (decimeters). It controls the thickness of the covering in the case of of glass and polycarbonate coverings. For trapezoidal and corrugated sheet metal coverings, the sheet thickness is
- New attribute
<Zahl> "Roughness" [roughness]
- This attribute can be between 0-1. It controls the roughness of the material for all coverings.
- Note: For glass and polycarbonate coverings, a good mix of opacity and roughness can be important for a realistic impression be important for a realistic impression. We have listed our default values in the next section.
- New attribute
<Zahl> "Amplitude" [amplitude]
- This attribute controls the amplitude height of the trapezoidal or corrugated sheet coverings in cm, i.e. the vertical distance between the highest and lowest points Distance between the highest and lowest point of this material.
- New attribute
<Zahl> "Frequenz" [frequenz]
- This attribute controls the frequency of the trapezoidal or corrugated sheet metal covering and specifies the horizontal Distance of the high points in cm.
Default values
Covering | Key | Glass | Opacity | Thickness | Roughness | Amplitude | Frequency |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
glass 8mm clear | glass | 1 | 0.3 | 0.08 | 0 | - | - |
glass 8mm opal | glass | 1 | 0.9 | 0.08 | 0.5 | - | - |
poly 16mm clear | poly | 0 | 0.9 | 0.16 | 0.3 | - | - |
Poly 16mm opal | poly | 0 | 0.9 | 0.16 | 0.5 | - | - |
lamella | lamella | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | - | - |
Solar | solar | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | - | - |
trapezoidal sheet | trapezoid | 0 | 1 | 0.01 | 0.8 | 4 | 10 |
corrugated sheet | corrugated | 0 | 1 | 0.01 | 0.8 | 4 | 10 |
Conversion examples:
8 mm = 0.8 cm = 0.08 dm = 0.008 m
16 mm = 1.6 cm = 0.16 dm = 0.016 m
Function for supporting the roof bays
We offer the option of an underslung cross beam.
This is often installed at high depths, so you can ensure that the roof bays are additionally supported.
A <Ja/Nein> "Unterzugträger" [dynamicLog]
feature is required for this function.
The characteristic values look like this:
"Ausgewählt" [ja]
"Nicht ausgewählt" [nein]
If this feature is selected, a beam is drawn in the middle under the roof.
This selection is usually hidden. A rule should define when this beam is drawn.
This is usually only necessary for special coverings (e.g. solar) and high depths.
In all other cases, this selection should be set to "Nicht ausgewählt" [nein]
.
Other linked features
The coverings you offer often come with a wide range of other options. K3.veranda therefore offers therefore offers further features with which many aspects can be controlled:
Number of supporting beams Enterprise
We also offer the <Zahl> "Anzahl Tragbalken" [roofLogAmount]
feature (mainly for the carport).
This visualizes the number of additional beams under the carport. This feature
should be set so that it is only set in conjunction with the carport and otherwise has the value 0.
Alignment of the covering Enterprise
The alignment of the slats as well as the running direction for trapezoidal and corrugated sheets can be controlled via the feature
<Ja/Nein> "Eindeckung drehen" [coverRotation]
with the values:
- "Yes": Run in standard direction
- "No": Covering and connected elements (e.g. crossbars) rotated by 90° degrees
Please note that this alignment also has static effects and that the system manufacturer and therefore the system manufacturer usually makes binding specifications. Therefore, this selection cannot normally be selected by the end customer, but is hidden and controlled by rules.
Up to K3.veranda version 2.5, there was only the following control option for slat alignment, which is no longer recommended from version 2.53 is no longer recommended:
*The slats are initially always displayed parallel to the house wall.
In rare cases, this can be rotated.
We offer a <Liste> "Lamellenausrichtung" [slatAngle]
feature for this purpose.
This feature requires an attribute <Zahl> "Drehwinkel" [grad]
.
This rotation angle should be set to 90 for the desired selection value in order to have the slats run orthogonally to the house wall
Retracting the slats Enterprise
Normally, the slats are offered in such a way that they can be tilted.
However, there are also systems that allow the slats to be fully retracted in addition to tilting.
This also works in K3.veranda.
A <Ja/Nein> "Lamellenmeinfahrung" [slatMoveIn]
feature must be created for this.
If this feature is selected, the slats are retracted.
If, for example, you only want to display and sell this variant, you can enable this by rule.
Color of the slat, trapezoidal and corrugated sheet metal covering Enterprise
Similar to the coloring of the roof or the coloring of awnings, the metallic coverings can also be colored separately.
We offer the <Farbe> "Eindeckungsfarbe" [metalColor]
feature for this purpose.
If no feature with the key metalColor is created, the normal profile color is used for the slats.
This is listed in hier.
Glass color Pro
We also offer a coloration for non-metallic coverings (glass, polycarbonate, solar).
These are realized via the feature <Farbe> "Glasfarbe" [glasColor]
.
