Written documentation
To prepare the configurator for integration on your website, two more things need to be done:
- You need to publish the configurator.
- We need to define an entry point. Surely you don't want the configurator on your website to start with crooked dimensions, but to define a nice entry point. We call these entry points inspirations, because there can be several of them.
Publish
- Click on the Publish button in the editor at the top right (orange).
- Confirm the query dialog.
Creating inspirations
- Open the configurator by clicking on Live version
- Your configurator opens under a special URL.
- Make all selections so that the configurator is in the state you want to use as the starting point on your website.
- Use the Remember action of the configurator (bottom right).
- Navigate back to the previous tab of the admin panel in the browser.
- Navigate to the overview page via the K3 symbol in the top left-hand corner.
- Navigate to the configurations table (the list symbol in the middle below the configurator image)
- You will find the configuration you have just saved in the first line of the table.
- Select the pencil icon at the end of this line.
- Select the "Inspiration" item (top right) and activate it.
- Save (bottom right).
- If you now navigate back to the table view from point 8, you will no longer find this inspiration.
- To do this, you must filter on "Inspirations" at the top right of the table. The inspiration should now appear there.
- Select the open symbol at the end of the row. Your inspiration will now be opened.
tip
What is the difference between a configuration and an inspiration?
If you call up a configuration again, e.g. after six months, the system will recognize that you have made changes to the system in the meantime.
The configuration can then only be called up in a read-only state.
In the event of inspiration, the system will automatically ensure that changes made in the meantime are automatically adjusted.
After all, you certainly always want to refer to the latest version of the configurator on your website!
