(6) Set roof pitch

Your customers can also set the roof pitch in the configurator.
The front height is automatically calculated from the roof pitch.
This is visualized in the configurator with a dimension in the 3D area.
To do this, you must tell the configurator what the minimum and maximum roof pitches are:

  1. In the Tutorial tab, please select the item 6. set roof pitch
  2. This click takes you directly to the settings for the Roof pitch feature.
  3. Scroll down a little in the sidebar until you reach the Minimum value and Maximum value points.
  4. Please enter your corresponding minimum and maximum roof pitch there.

Alternative: Front passage height

Alternatively, your customers can also enter the front passage height instead of the pitch. The roof pitch is then calculated from this. The minimum and maximum values set above are still taken into account, which is important for the design.

  1. Rename the feature "Rear height" to "Height" (this makes the input of the calculation formula for the roof pitch easier to read).
  2. Create the characteristic <Zahl>"Durchgangshöhe" [frontHeight] (i.e. a characteristic of the type "Number" called "Passage height" with the key frontHeight).
  3. Set the unit and the limits and steps in which the passage height can be entered. The unit should correspond to the "height" - cm by default.
  4. Hide the roof pitch feature.
  5. Specify that the roof pitch is to be calculated. The formula for this is a little complicated:
    atan((Höhe-Durchgangshöhe)/Tiefe)*180/PI
  6. Done! Do not forget to publish.
