Can I influence the camera perspective?

Sometimes certain parts of a product should be shown in more detail when the user configures them. For example, if the user selects the gears in a bicycle configurator, they should mainly be visible in the 3D view. Cameras can be created for this purpose and assigned to a step or feature. As soon as the user selects a step or feature, the system automatically switches to this camera perspective.

Requirements

  • You have created a 3D configurator.

Assign camera to a configuration step

If you want to switch to a camera as soon as the customer selects a step:

  • Switch to

    .
  • Click on the pencil icon behind the name of the step.
  • Set the perspective as you want it.
  • Click on
    Loading...
    in the sidebar.
  • You can change the following properties:
    • Give the camera a name (for example: "Gear shift").
    • Select a focus type:
      • a static camera never changes its position and direction.
      • a dynamic camera captures certain models and is moved so that they are visible.
    • If necessary, select which models the camera should capture.
    • (In developer mode: Specify object names from 3D models to be focused on)
    • Select whether the camera should track changes to 3D models by showing/hiding or for dynamic models. With a large percentage, you prevent the cameras from Cameras from moving constantly. With a small number, the camera is tracked more precisely.
  • Press
