How can I hide steps or features?
Hide steps
There are two ways to hide steps:
Firstly, you can differentiate between visited and unvisited steps:
- Switch to Loading....
- Click on Loading...in the sidebar.
- Open Loading...
- Show tab step by step: Only the next step is visible here
- Check off visited tabs: A tick appears next to visited steps
You can also hide steps by rule:
- Click on Loading...in the sidebar of the editor
- Click on Loading...
- Enter a name and optionally a description
- Click on Loading...
- Click on Loading...
- Under "Product structure" you will find the item Hide tab. Check the box.
- The last item in the sidebar is Combinations of features. Check the box.
- You probably want to uncheck Check validity.
- Under Characteristics, select all characteristics on which the visibility depends.
- Click on Loading...
- You can now enter the combinations of characteristics for which a step is hidden. To do this, fill in the combination of characteristic values and select the desired tab in the "Hide tab" column and select the desired step.
Hide features
There are several ways to hide features:
Directly on the feature:
- Switch to the Loading....
- Click on the pencil symbol behind the feature.
- Switch to the Loading...tab.
- Hidden: The feature is generally not displayed.
- Hide if only one selection is possible: The characteristic is not displayed if only one value is possible.
- Deactivate if only one selection is possible: The feature is deactivated if only one value is possible.
You can also hide features by rule:
- Click on Loading...in the editor in the sidebar
- Click on Loading...
- Enter a name and optionally a description
- Click on Loading...
- Click on Loading...
- Under "Product structure" you will find the item Hide variables. Check the box.
- The last item in the sidebar is Combinations of characteristics. Check the box.
- You probably want to uncheck Check validity.
- Under Characteristics, select all characteristics on which the visibility depends.
- Click on Loading...
- You can now enter the combinations of characteristics for which a characteristic is hidden. To do this, fill in the combination of characteristic values and select the desired variable in the "Hide variables" column and select the desired characteristic.
A hidden characteristic behaves exactly like a characteristic that was never selected by the user. It therefore still has a value. It is not displayed in the summary and PDF (unless explicitly requested, see below), but is still relevant in rules. If a hidden characteristic is used in rules, you must therefore consider this case.
Hide characteristic values
The usual way to hide characteristic values is to restrict the Gültigkeit of value combinations.
However, it is also possible to selectively hide characteristic values. To do this, proceed as for characteristics, but select Hide values when editing the rule.
Confirmation, PDF and store
The rules above determine whether a feature is hidden in the configurator.
Independently of this, you can also determine whether a feature is displayed in the confirmation dialog before saving, in the PDF printout and/or in the store.
- To do this, click on the pencil symbol on the feature
- Under "Options", select the entry in Display in confirmation, PDF and shop:
- As in the configurator: The feature is hidden or shown in the confirmation and PDF exactly as in the configurator.
- Always: The feature is always displayed in the confirmation and PDF.
- Never: The feature is never displayed in confirmation and PDF.
