How can I create a selection?

A selection is the most common input option offered to users in configurators. This allows users to choose between different options for a specific product feature. Examples are The size of a T-shirt, the type of handle on a wardrobe or the type of glass on a photovoltaic system.

K3 therefore also offers a range of options for selections.

Requirements

  • You have created a configurator.
  • You know that a feature of your product can be selected using several options.

Create feature

  • Open the configurator editor.
  • If you have not already done so, create the first configuration step by clicking on
    Loading...
    .
  • Now click on
    Loading...
    . This creates a characteristic.
  • Now decide on the Type of the feature, in this case "List". There are also color, number, yes/no, etc.
  • You can now select the Display of the new feature. For example, for a selection, choose
    Loading...
    or
    Loading...
    - a selection of several values can be displayed in different ways Be displayed in different ways. You can change the display later.
  • Click on
    Loading...
. The new selection appears immediately in the configurator, but is still empty.
  • Now give the new feature the name you want your customer to see.
  • You will now see the Options, where you can specify in more detail how the feature works.
  • Next, you can specify which actions this selection should perform. For example, should it add certain items to the shopping cart or change the product display? We will go into these aspects in the following articles.
  • Click on
    Loading...
  • You will now see the table of possible options (we call them values).
  • Now enter the values. Enter the Display in each case.
  • Finally, click on
    Loading...
. The selection is now complete.

Deactivate values

If you do not want to display values, e.g. only temporarily, you can simply deactivate them in the value table by clicking on the check icon.
