How do I calculate the price?

Pro

Requirements

Create articles & prices

  • Either connect your configurator mit Ihrem Shop and import the store articles

  • or you can enter articles and prices manually:

    • Go to Articles in the sidebar
    • Enter the data for your items, e.g. item number, name and category.
    • Click on
      Loading...
      .
    • You can create several prices for each item. In each case, enter the price (amount), currency and the product unit to which the price relates. You can also enter the following price types:
      • Standard price: Simply enter the amount and currency, leave the other fields blank.
      • Promotional price: Enter the start and end date.
      • Graduated price: Enter start and end number.
      • Surcharge: Under "Surcharge?", select whether this is a "normal" price or a surcharge:
        • fixed: This is a normal item with a fixed price.
        • surcharge: This is a surcharge. It is explicitly shown as an item in the price calculation. The surcharge is shown in % under "Amount".
        • surchargeHidden: This is a hidden surcharge. These surcharges are added together. For example, if there are two such surcharges of 10% and 20%, the total surcharge is 30%.
        • surchargeHiddenMult: This is a hidden surcharge. These surcharges are multiplied individually to the price. For example, if there are two such surcharges of 10% and 20%, the total surcharge is 1.1*1.2 = 1.32, i.e. 32%.
    • If you have several prices that are valid at the same time, the priority decides.

Add article

The configurator maintains an article list (parts list) in the background. It is calculated from the user input. When an order is placed, it is displayed in the summary. If you have connected a store, it is also placed in its shopping cart. To calculate the items in the parts list from the user input for a feature, proceed as follows:

  • Switch to
    Loading...
    in the sidebar.
  • Switch to the correct tab and click on the pencil icon behind the feature name.
  • Switch to the Actions tab.
  • Check the Order item box
  • Click on
    Loading...
    .
  • You will now see the table with the selection values in front of you. There is now an Article column.
  • Now select the article to be placed in the parts list for each value.
  • Normally it is placed "1 x" in the parts list. Click on "1 x".
  • An editor opens. Here you can:
  • Click on
    Loading...
    .
  • Click on
    Loading...
    .

If an article depends on the combination of several characteristics:

  • Switch to
    Loading...
    in the sidebar.
  • Search for the rule with the name of your feature and the addition "articleAction".
  • Click on
    Loading...
. You will now see the rule that was created for the first characteristic. You can now simply add further characteristics to this rule
  • Click on
    Loading...
    .
  • Click in the
    Loading...
    field under Characteristic combinations
  • Select the remaining characteristics that determine the item assignment.
  • Under Add article to parts list, select the characteristic to which the price is to be assigned.
  • Click on
    Loading...
    .
  • The rule now contains a column for each characteristic and a column for the article.
  • You can now select the correct article for each combination of characteristics.

Price calculation

If the parts list is filled, the price is calculated as the sum of the parts list with applied surcharges.

In detail, it is important at which points rounding is applied. This is done as follows:

  • the prices of all "real" items (with type "fixed") are added up
  • For each item, the item price
    • is multiplied by the sum of all additive surcharges (plus 1). The prices are then rounded.
    • then the item price is multiplied individually by all multiplicative surcharges (plus 1). In each case, this is followed by rounding.
    • both the item price and all surcharges are multiplied by their number in the bill of materials.
  • If there are surcharges shown, they are multiplied (plus 1) by the price of all "real" items and rounded.
  • All prices from the items and those of the surcharges shown are added to the price of the "real" items.

Number and quantity

In some situations, you want to show the customer a parts list with the number and quantity of an item separately. In a configurator for railings, for example, the planks are cut to fit between the posts. If 4 planks of length 1.5 meters and 2 of length 3.5 meters are required, this is what you want to show the customer and not "13m planks".

On the other hand, you cannot create articles for 1.5 m planks and 3.5 m planks because these lengths are calculated dynamically.

In these cases, you can specify a quantity in addition to the number in the rule that controls the article. In the example, you would enter 4 as the number and 1.5 as the quantity in one rule, and 2 and 3.5 in the other, both with the article "Plank".

If there are several rule lines with the same article and the same quantity, these are combined and the quantity is totaled.

The parts lists are then output accordingly in the summary and PDF.

In this case, the unit found at the price is also listed after the quantity.
