Explanation of the surface

There are basically two levels in the K3 user interface:

  • The editor: You are already there after registration.
This is where we will customize the configurator together in the next steps.

  • The Dashboard: You can always access this by clicking on the K3 logo in the top left-hand corner. Here you can find your configurators, add users or access the configurations overview to view the data generated by your configurator. Clicking on a configurator takes you back to the Editor.

tip

K3.railing is an extension to the main software ObjectCode K3®. There are therefore a large number of setting options.
If you would like to find out more about this later, it is worth taking a look at the K3 user documentation:

Other important elements for this tutorial

  • The sidebar: You will always find the sidebar on the right-hand side when you have opened the Editor.
  • The preview:: When you are in the editor, you can find the ribbon on the left-hand side. Here you will recognize the item "Preview". In preview mode, you will see the configurator without pens. Hidden parameters are also hidden. Your customer will also be able to see this version of the configurator later.
  • Publication: Initially, your configurator is not yet published. You can recognize this by the greyed out Live Version at the top right. To publish the configurator, simply click on the orange Publish and confirm. You can then click on the "Live version" button. You will be taken to your configurator for the first time in a new tab!
tip

If you click on the pencil to the right of "Length 1" in the Editor within the visible configurator, you can set this variable.
For example, you can set the minimum or maximum value or rename this variable. More on this in the following steps.
